ASL Semantics: Brushing up!

This webinar gives you a look at how we can expand our interpreting skills to lean less towards English-influenced signing and more towards ASL. We'll explore visual imagery.

Educational Objectives:

-   Participants will note and analyze differences between English-influenced signing and ASL.

-   Participants will produce expressive language with ASL grammatical principles

Level of Participant’s Prior Knowledge of Topic:

□ Little/None  X Some  Extensive □ Teaching

Action Plan:

1.  Present introduction to ASL Semantics

2.  Instruct and demonstrate ASL Semantics in practical exercises

3.  Participants practice using ASL Semantics

4.  Participants discuss ASL Semantics

 Evaluation & Assessment:

The instructor will observe the amount of participation and engagement in activities - especially the independent exercises – to determine whether the participant demonstrated new or expanded learning of the topic. The instructor will provide opportunities for questions throughout the activity.
