Lindsay Burris has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Duquesne University. She continued for her master’s degree in Deaf education with a focus in secondary mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh. She did an internship at the American School for the Deaf teaching elementary school and high school math. She then worked as a long-term sub in a high school geometry class at ASD. Following this experience, Lindsay moved to Virginia and has taught at VSDB for 13 years in the math department. She has taught math courses ranging from kindergarten through pre-calculus. The majority of her teaching experience has been with middle and high school students. Lindsay recently completed an EdS degree in Administration and Supervision. Since the 2017-2018 school year, she has served as Assistant Principal at VSDB as well as having taught Algebra 2 courses. She loves math, but hasn’t always, and thinks that with the right teaching, everyone else can love it too.
